If You Continue To Think The Way You’ve Always Thought, You’ll Continue To Get What You’ve Always Got.
It’s a known fact that sometimes everyone lacks motivation in some aspects of life. The lack of motivation is usually a consequence of stress, diseases, laziness, depression, and fatigue. Quite often, the lack of motivation can come from not knowing exactly why we are doing something. Or when we are doing some activity because someone else wants us to do it while we don’t want to do it ourselves. The good thing is that the internet is overflowing with stories from people who can inspire others to do better in different fields. Because of this, we often see people look up to influencers, which is a good thing when it comes to motivation.
The lack of motivation can also come from the fact that we haven’t set our main goals and that we don’t exactly know what we want to do.
Since deficiency of motivation is a problem of many today, we will be showing you some ways to always keep your motivation up. But first, let’s see what motivation represents.
What Motivation Represents?
Motivation is that thing that drives you, causes certain behavior, and pulls you towards achieving your goals. It’s a fiery feeling, a desire to do better and to change something. Even though discipline is the one that could help one person to achieve their goals, motivation also plays a major role there.
A motivated person has the energy, focus, and determination do any action necessary to achieve their goals.
Mental images, or visualization play a huge role here. They will help awaken your motivation by making you see all the things you can achieve in life.
Six suggestions on how to keep the motivation up
1. Set your goals
If your goal is to achieve something big, it would be good to set yourself some smaller goals and to focus on making small achievements rather than the big ones. Small achievements can lead to the accomplishment of a bigger goal. Dividing the goal into several smaller goals will make it easier for you to motivate yourself because you will avoid being discouraged by a goal that is too difficult to achieve. This will also help you make your goal more feasible and easier to accomplish.
2. Focusing is important
No one can achieve great focus overnight. It’s important to invest some of your time, plan out your days, and literally plan everything ahead, even your meals, workouts, etc. Time management is everything when it comes to motivation. Once you organize your time well, you will have a better insight into your own life. On top of that, increasing your focus will help you do one thing at a time, which will result in faster task completion.
3. Pick your company wisely
If you are surrounded by people who don’t do anything for the whole day, you will hardly keep your motivation up, so our advice is to surround yourself with people who will help you be better, achieve greater things, and who have a similar mindset to yours.
4. Multitasking isn’t a good idea
Even though many people think multitasking helps them be more productive, that’s not the case.
Don’t do five things at a time that will lower your productivity level. Instead of that, determine the time for sports, work, meals, reading, and take some time for yourself each day to do nothing but relax.
5. The 80/20 rule is a holy grail
The 80/20 rule, also known as the Pareto principle, is one of the things that could help you keep your motivation up. The main lesson you need to learn using this principle is to always choose where and how you spend your time. The 20% of activities are responsible for 80% of your productivity and success. So, what you should do is find those activities that can lead to higher success. Once you determine this, you will be able to spend more time on things with which you have a greater chance of achieving, and which require less effort.
The 80/20 rule can, in the long term, improve your motivation daily. By following and accomplishing certain daily activities, you will get the necessary stimulation and boost of energy to perform even more similar activities. That’s when the motivation kicks in to save the day and give you enough willpower to accomplish anything.
6. Visualize, visualize, visualize!
We want to imprint in your head that visualization is extremely important! Visualizing your goals will help you speed up the achievement process while also bringing you feelings of happiness and joy! In other words, this will also help keep your motivation high and running!
